We are the 0-2 foundation that complements your centre and play-based programmes. Through Flourish, we support responsive caregiving and maternal wellbeing, with fresh content that highlights the power of learning through play in the earliest years.

If you run home visiting or Community Health Worker teams
Add a high-quality growth monitoring and nutrition package. We train and mentor CHWs, equip Outreach Team Leaders and link closely with clinics – so families get timely support, referrals and practical help when it matters most.

If you fund maternal and child health or public services
You can back district expansion, strengthen digital tools and support communications that shift norms in the first 1 000 days.

For policymakers

Grow Great supports South Africa’s goals to give every child a strong
start. Our work aligns with the National Development Plan, the Department of Health’s maternal and child health priorities, the National Strategy to Accelerate Action for Children and the National Integrated Early Childhood Development Policy.

We work alongside government at national, provincial and district level to:

Support mothers and caregivers through Flourish – antenatal and postnatal groups that build confidence, connection and wellbeing, with a vision for Flourish to be formally recognised and financed as part of South Africa’s 0–2 parental support strategy
Strengthen growth monitoring and nutrition through Grow Great Champions – training and equipping CHWs to deliver Vitamin A, deworming and breastfeeding support, with proven improvements in national health indicators and clear pathways for sustainable provincial and national financing
Improve frontline delivery by scaling a refined Champions model and supporting CHWs through a virtual community of practice (Facebook, WhatsApp, SMS and CHW Connect), designed for cost-effective provincial adoption
Equip CHWs with digital tools – piloting and refining CHW Connect for growth monitoring, referrals and learning, with the goal of full integration into the National Department of Health’s information systems
Shift behaviours and norms by amplifying CHW and parent voices, convening leaders and communities, and building the public demand and accountability that keeps stunting reduction high on the national agenda

Our interventions are designed for public sector scale and backed by
evidence. We hold memorandums of understanding with provincial
Departments of Health and participate in national workstreams to keep implementation aligned.
